Intermediate/Advanced Pottery

Ages 18 + | Intermediate- Advanced | With Veronica Byun

Focus on creating functional, sculptural, decorative pieces. Explore form, size, refinement, and surface both on the wheel and through hand-building techniques like slab, extruding, using hump/slump molds, and more. Special attention is given to creating larger vessels, multiples, and executing sophisticated Prerequisite: Intro to Pottery and/or instructor permission to enroll.

MASKS: Face coverings are optional.

FIRING TICKETS
Firing fees are based on the measured volume of the finished pieces. Firing tickets are $2 each and available for purchase at the School of Art reception desk during business hours.

MATERIAL FEES
Required material fees cover the cost of full use of studio clay and glazes.

SUMMER OPEN STUDIO
Students currently enrolled in a summer ceramics class may take advantage of summer open studio hours on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. or 6-9 p.m. depending on which class the student is enrolled in. Open studio spots are limited and must be registered for in advance of attending at SignUp.com.

CLASS NOTE
Ceramics courses may sometimes require light lifting. Students should be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
