Oil Painting Portraiture: NORMAN ROCKWELL Edition
Ages 18 + | All Levels | With Yulia Levkovich
Beginners and experienced painters are invited to delve into portrait painting inspired by this summer's Museum of Art Exhibition, Norman Rockwell. Rockwell illustrated the everyday moments in America, featuring diverse races, nationalities, economic backgrounds, as well as, portraits of significant political figures. Students in this class work from a live model, learning basic drawing techniques for a preparatory sketch, essential transferring techniques, and a classical oil painting approach to completing finished portrait paintings. Required materials list provided.
Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute will present the landmark exhibition Norman Rockwell, June 11 through September 18, featuring iconic images of American scenes painted by the most beloved artist and illustrator of the 20th century. Registration for this course includes admission and a tour of the exhibition.
