Pratt Munson College of Art and Design in downtown Utica to host its first Family and Alumni Weekend under new name

WHAT: Pratt Munson College of Art and Design, the prestigious Pratt Institute’s upstate New York extensions campus in Utica, will host its first-ever Family and Alumni Weekend as its new name. The two-year college was formerly known as PrattMWP. The college is under the umbrella organization of Munson (formerly known as Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute).

Family and Alumni Weekend includes an art opening, a performance by a magician, studio class and Munson Museum of Art tours, and celebratory meals. Below are a selection of events. Please note which are open to the public and which are private for the Pratt Munson community.

Friday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. Ribbon Cutting Celebration with American Dining Creations at the new dining hall with display cooking, desserts and mocktails (Open to the public)

Friday, Sept. 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. Pratt Munson Alumni Exhibition Opening and artist talks with Tania Alvaez and Sydney Ellison (Open to the public)

Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 to 10 a.m. Family and alumni welcome breakfast in Palmer Park on State Street

Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. Pratt Munson Professor Ken Marchione teaches drawing at Studio Building Room 240

Sunday, Oct. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Closing brunch (Private event for Pratt Munson only)
