Set in WWI and its aftermath, this romantic‑historical drama stars Paul Mescal as Lionel and Josh O’Connor as David, two musicians who meet at the Boston Music Conservatory, fall in love, and later travel through rural Maine recording folk songs amid a world changed by war. When the horrors of conflict and the weight of memory intrude, their relationship is tested. The film premiered in competition at Cannes and was nominated for the Palme d’Or.
