Film: Cookie Queens

Directed by Alysa Nahmias, 2026, USA, Rated G, 91 minutes

Every year, Girl Scouts sell hundreds of millions of dollars in cookies, and Cookie Queens follows four ambitious young scouts—Nikki, Olive, Ara, and Shannon Elizabeth—as they pursue their goals during one whirlwind cookie season. What begins as a colorful look at Thin Mints, sales pitches, and friendly competition develops into a thoughtful coming-of-age documentary about girlhood, entrepreneurship, family, economic differences, and the pressures that accompany achievement. Executive produced in part by Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, the film premiered in the Family Matinee program at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. RogerEbert.com called it an “adorable delight” and praised director Alysa Nahmias for creating a hopeful portrait of childhood and contemporary America that is never merely saccharine.
